Start for 28th Aïcha des Gazelles Rally in Nice and Monaco
The 28th edition of Rallye Aïcha des Gazelles du Maroc has started! It was D Day for the participants on Saturday March 17 2018: the 143 teams gathered in a festive mood in Nice for the race official start.
SAINT HONORE is represented by two teams
This year, two SAINT HONORE crews are competing for this 28th edition of Rallye Aïcha des Gazelles du Maroc. In the car 504, SAINT HONORE’s new ambassador and granddaughter of Charlie Chaplin Kiera Chaplin teams up with Jazmin Grace Grimaldi, daughter of Albert II, Prince of Monaco: a charming team! The crew 246 is all for sports performance, with skier and Olympic champion Carole Montillet-Carles, and Sylvie Godeau Gellie.
Solidarity and festive ambiance on the starting line of Rallye des Gazelles
They were all ready for the big day! From early morning, crews gathered to hand in their donations – most to support Coeur de Gazelles – which will then be distributed during the race in Moroccan villages. Facing the sea, all teams then joyfully joined a massive Zumba session: a perfect way to release stress!

A princely start for the electric vehicles new category
After a successful test in the 2017 edition, the electric vehicle class has grown this year: 6 crews were present on Saturday for the official start. Among the 12 e-Gazelles, Kiera Chaplin and Jazmin Grimaldi from SAINT HONORE 504 team will also need to adopt eco-driving and carefully manage their battery power.
All electric vehicles gathered in Monaco and Princess Stéphanie of Monaco sent them off from the Prince’s Palace at 11am. A grand start for this innovative category! The e-Gazelles then joined the rest of the crews in Nice for the official start.

The Rallye Aïcha des Gazelles kicked off in Nice
After the arrival of the e-Gazelles in Nice, it was time to get started! All crews were waiting impatiently on the Promenade des Anglais, in front of “Théâtre de Verdure”. At 3pm sharp, the Mayor of Nice Christian Estrosi and the founder of the event Dominique Serra gave the official start of the 28th edition of the Rallye Aïcha des Gazelles du Maroc.

SAINT HONORE, a partner of the Rallye Aïcha des Gazelles du Maroc since 2013
SAINT HONORE has created a watch specially designed for the Rallye: the Opera Coeur de Gazelles. Its leather strap is of the raspberry color of the Gazelles jackets and its case features a gazelle head pattern with “Eclair Effect”. For each sale of this model, 100€ are donated to Charity Association Coeur de Gazelles.
Coeur de Gazelles works in partnership with the Moroccan Government to support local communities. The charity moves through Morocco in a caravan, with a team of 56 health specialists and doctors, and provides free medical care in the country’s remote areas.
SAINT HONORE is a proud partner of the Rallye des Gazelles, for it represents the brand’s values: sharing, excelling oneself, showing team spirit, and of course elegance.
